Our Pick for The Best Pasta Maker

The Most Versatile
Marcato
The Marcato Atlas Pasta boasts quality, affordability and versatility which is why we have chosen this pasta machine as our top pick. Made from quality stainless steel and priced affordably, this pasta machine really does give you a lot of bang for your buck! This manual pasta machine is perfect for somebody who enjoys being hands on in the kitchen making the dough but will appreciate the extra helping hand when rolling out the dough and creating the pasta shapes.

What We Think of the Marcato Atlas Pasta Machine
The Marcato Atlas Pasta Machine gives the user the freedom of making a range of different pastas such as fettucini, spaghetti and tagliolini in just one machine.
The thickness can be controlled through its 9 position dial and ranges from 0.3mm to 2.5mm. If you would like to make even more types of pasta, separate attachments are sold separately for shapes such a ravioli and linguini.
While it isn’t convenient buying separate attachments, the Marcato Atlas Pasta Machine is affordable and since it’s compatible with additional attachments, no longer are you limited to making the same type of pasta every week! In addition, the machine is multifunctional and can be used to make noodles, pita bread, dumplings and pastelitos!
I have used several manual pasta machines, and this one is the best I have encountered. It is very solidly built and easy to use. In particular, the cranking mechanism works smoothly and effortlessly, without needing a great deal of force. A joy to use! The availability of a wide range of cutting-attachments for a variety of pasta shapes is also a plus.
Michael G.
The Marcato Atlas Pasta Machine’s multifunctionality makes this machine a practical investment for the kitchen, and is available in a modern silver design made from quality stainless steel which would blend into any kitchen countertop.
Its compact and lightweight design also provides you with the option of storing this away in a cupboard in case you don’t want this to be displayed in your kitchen.
We also think that the quality of the stainless steel and anodized aluminium rollers set this machine apart from other machines in the same price range. It therefore comes to no surprise that the Marcato Atlas Pasta Machine is easy to use and void of clogs while rolling out the dough due to the high quality of material. Simply choose the correct setting, and roll out the dough using the handle.
However, with many manual pasta machines which involve the user to roll out the dough using a handle, it does come with a clamp.
While the clamp is firm and can be used on different types of surfaces or countertops, you may want to check that you have a countertop or table which is compatible with the clamp before purchasing. Since some countertops don’t jut out, you may have to use a different surface away from the kitchen.
Nevertheless, the clamp works well and once set up, the machine will be firmly held into place to facilitate a smooth operation!
Unfortunately, the cleaning process is awkward. The pieces aren’t easily detachable and to avoid making the stainless steel from rusting, we would advise against using water. Instead, use a dry cloth to wipe it over after use to prevent damage.
Despite the cleaning process being inconvenient, the pasta machine can make an impressive amount of pasta. Of course, depending on how much dough you want to make and roll out, will depend on the quantity you serve.
In general, this machine can be used to make 4 or 5 servings in one use, enough to feed a family or a dinner party! Furthermore, this product is made in Italy, making this an authentic purchase!

The Most Efficient
Philips
The Philips Compact Pasta Maker is what we would class as an affordable luxury product which has many benefits for its price. If you are looking for an automatic machine which involves minimum work on your end from making the dough to rolling it out, then the Philips Compact Pasta Maker is ideal for you.
Philips Compact Pasta Maker Video Review
What We Think of the Philips Compact Pasta Maker
We all know that making the dough can be tricky and spending time mastering the technique may not appeal to everyone. The Philips Compact Pasta Maker is easy to use and has got you covered from start to finish with minimum work required on your behalf!
Simply put in the ingredients into the machine and leave it to create the dough. Once ready, it will automatically begin to push out the pasta through the discs, leaving you to simply cut it when it reaches the desired length.
However, this does mean you can’t leave the machine to operate on its own since it does require you to cut the lengths.
However, if you can spare 18 minutes from start to finish, you will have 2 or 3 servings of pasta ready to boil!
While 2 or 3 servings may not be enough to feed a large family, it takes less than 20 minutes altogether to have the desired result which means you can simply repeat the process.
If you enjoy kneading out dough for pasta and being part of the process, this may not be the appropriate pasta machine for you. Nevertheless, you can still customize your pasta by choosing which ingredients you want to use and the quantities.
Unfortunately, the Philips Compact Pasta Maker does restrict the different types of shapes you may want to make. Although 3 discs are included with this machine, Philips do offer different types of discs to purchase separately.
I absolutely love it! It’s so easy to use and so quick. I simply loaded the mixing compartment with ingredients and turned on the machine. It mixes and shapes the pasta all with the push of one button. Cleaning was easy, with a quick soak in soapy water and the handy tools included, it was done in no time. It honestly takes about the same amount of time to make fresh pasta in the Philips pasta maker and cook it as it does to boil a box of the store bought stuff, and it tastes so much better!
Tina P.
All of the components of the Philips Compact Pasta Maker are detachable which makes it a breeze to clean. Unlike most pasta makers which can’t be cleaned with water, this can be cleaned with soap and water without running the risk of damaging it since the attachments are made from plastic.
Although plastic makes this easy and quick to clean, we would have liked to have seen a more durable material used particularly for the higher price point. Nevertheless, the machine is sturdy and unlike manual pasta makers, doesn’t require a clamp to roll out the dough which is an advantage.
While it weighs slightly heavier than other pasta machines on the market, it is compact enough to store away or set it aside in the corner of the kitchen without it being too conspicuous. In addition, it operates quietly as well as efficiently.
The Philips Compact Pasta Maker also includes a cleaning brush, 3 discs to make different shapes pastas and a cutter which can all be stored away in the small drawer integrated in the pasta machine to avoid any attachments being lost!

The Philips Compact Pasta Maker is perfect for a couple or a small family who prioritizes ease of use over spending time kneading the dough or rolling it out using a handle. While its versatility is limited due to only being able to produce pasta shapes with the discs provided, it will give you consistently restaurant standard results for a great price!

Presentation of the GOURMEX Stainless Steel Manual Pasta Maker
The Affordable Choice
Gourmex
Available at an affordable price, the Gourmex Stainless Steel Manual Pasta Maker is ideal for somebody who is new to making homemade pasta and is perhaps unsure how often they will use it. The Gourmex Stainless Steel Manual Pasta Maker makes fresh and delicious pasta for a fraction of a price in comparison to many other pasta makers!
What We Think of the GOURMEX Stainless Steel Manual Pasta Maker
The Gourmex Stainless Steel Manual Pasta Maker is made from a quality stainless steel and priced affordably on the market. Despite its cheaper price, Gourmex did not compromise on the quality of this item. Stainless steel is a durable material to use and is rust resistant which makes this pasta machine a long term purchase. However, you do have to avoid using soap and water when cleaning this machine to avoid any damage and rusting. The handle and clamp are detachable but the other components would need unscrewing for a thorough clean which is an inconvenience.
I used to make pasta by hand and wow this machine has made making pasta a breeze! Even though it took a little while to figure out the different settings, I love the choice it provides to make different types of pasta at a great price.
Maria V.
Pay attention to fitting the clamp securely onto the countertop or table because if not appropriately fitted, you will have to use a hand to keep the machine steady on the surface while rolling. While the clamp is easy to use, it may prove to be slightly fiddly depending on what surface you’re using it on. However, for the price point, we think this is justified and with a little more attention fixing it onto a surface, this shouldn’t be an issue.
It is however versatile, offering 7 thickness settings and a double cutter head to choose the width therefore, offering you the flexibility of making a choice of pasta from spaghetti to fettuccine. The brand also offers a rack at an additional price in case you are new to making pasta and don’t have one already! Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide a way to make more complex smaller pasta shapes however, you can most definitely take the time to experiment in the future with this by hand.
Available in 2 colours, red and silver, the Gourmex Stainless Steel Manual Pasta Maker looks modern on a kitchen countertop but can also be stored away thanks to its compact and light weight design.

Imperia

Imperia Pasta Maker Machine Video Review
What We Think of the Imperia Pasta Maker Machine
The Imperia Pasta Maker is controlled through a 6 setting dial which controls the thickness and offers a width range from 2mm-6.5mm. While these are enough settings to make your favourite spaghetti and fettuccine shaped pasta, most pasta makers on the market do offer more settings and a larger width range. Despite this slight restriction, Imperia does provide various other pasta shapes by purchasing additional attachments compatible with this machine which makes this more versatile.
I tried it for the first time and ended up with delicious pasta! I thought it was going to be difficult to do, but was really simple. You can choose how you want your pasta: thick vs. thin and type: spaghetti vs fettuccini etc. I recommend this to anyone looking to learn how to make fresh pasta. Very happy with this purchase!!
Nancy U.
The dial is easy to use and can be adjusted to whichever thickness desired, however, to avoid any blockage of dough inside the pasta maker, we would advise to roll out the dough to the desired thinness by gradually increasing the settings on the dial. In between cleaning the machine, we also recommend using this once so the dough does not build up in the machine and can be maintained properly. Therefore, this machine should serve approximately 3 or 4 servings per use. For the affordable price of the machine, we find this satisfactory while comparing this to other pasta machines on the market for the similar price.
Made from alloy steel, it is sturdy and great quality however, does need a clamp to keep it steady while you roll out your dough which can be used on a table. However, you may find this pasta machine inconvenient to clean since components aren’t easily detachable and this cannot be cleaned with water.

The Imperia Pasta Maker Machine provides you with all the basics you will need to make quality, fresh pasta with the option of purchasing attachments to make more pasta shapes. While the machine will need to be maintained accordingly to avoid any dough from building up inside, it is ideal for somebody who wishes to make 3-4 servings per use.
Presentation of the Delihom Pasta Maker
The Affordable Alternative
Delihom
The Delihom Pasta Maker is an alternative budget option for a pasta maker which is on the market for less than $100. For an affordable price, this pasta machine offers an impressive 9 thickness settings and even a complimentary brush to help clean the machine!
What We Think of the Delihom Pasta Maker
The versatility of the Delihom Pasta Maker makes this model stand out from other pasta makers on the market. With 9 thickness settings and an attachment to make ravioli, you can make vermicelli to spaghetti by just using this one appliance. In addition, the ravioli attachment means making ravioli is no longer fiddly and hard work to do! While the cutters were not as efficient to use straight away for thicker pastas, the more we used it, the more efficient the cutters became.
I am amazed at how easy this is to use & assemble.l can’t wait to make more ravioli for my family tonight! This product was super easy to clean with the brush and I love that it has the ravioli attachment that I have been looking for.
Luke C.
One of the biggest inconveniences of using a manual pasta maker made from stainless steel is the cleaning process. It can be tricky to dismantle and do a thorough clean particularly since using water or soap isn’t permitted to avoid damage. However, Delihom includes a brush with the maker which we find extremely useful in reaching difficult corners where dough builds up.
A clamp is also included with this machine which can attach firmly onto a table or kitchen counter. If you do find it isn’t tight enough and the machine is wobbling, simply place a wooden board or some paper in between to make sure it is steady enough to use. This model is available in a silver colour which can blend into the kitchen surroundings but also is compact to store away out of sight.

What We Think of the CucinaPro 160 Imperia Pasta Presto Electric Pasta Maker
Let your creative juices flow with the CucinaPro 160 Imperia Pasta Presto Electric Pasta Maker!
The CucinaPro 160 Imperia Pasta Presto Electric Pasta Maker certainly comes at an expensive price tag however, unlike most automatic pasta machines which require discs to make the pasta shape, this machine doesn’t limit what shapes you can make. It includes 6 thickness settings which is adequate but also a ravioli attachment which is a great perk of the machine! Not only does it have a ravioli attachment but since it rolls out into sheets, you can even create lasagne sheets!
We couldn’t be happier with this machine – it was well worth the investment. . The high price compared to normal electronic machines is more than justified by the greater convenience and comfort of the machine. I can’t imagine my household without it.
Ingrid D.
This model works just like a manual pasta maker however, is powered by an electric motor so you don’t need to roll out the dough with a handle nor do you need a clamp.
The electric motor not only makes this machine efficient, but it is powerful enough to cut any shapes no matter how thick the dough is.
Unfortunately, the machine is quite noisy when it is operating and rolling out the dough however, since it is powerful, it will create the perfect dough thickness and shape within minutes!
We did expect this machine to be heavier and bulkier, however, it is as light weight as some manual pasta makers on the market.
At first glance, you may not know exactly what its function is if you see this in somebody’s kitchen, however, it is compact enough to store away in a cupboard in case you don’t want it displayed on the counter top.
In addition, it is made from stainless steel and is therefore durable which we do expect for the price. While it is expensive, you can be assured that it is designed to be a long term investment.
This would therefore be a perfect purchase for somebody who makes pasta regularly and will get as much use out of it as possible.
Stainless Steel can be a nuisance to clean however, simply use a dry cloth to wipe over the rollers and since it is electric you should find that it cleans easily.

The CucinaPro 160 Imperia Pasta Presto Electric Pasta Maker is powerful, efficient and easy to use. It allows you to be part of the process of making and kneading the dough but brings all the benefits of an automatic machine without any limitations to pasta shapes being made through discs.
It does come at an expensive price for a kitchen appliance however, if you are looking for a machine which makes pasta in a more traditional way without the inconveniences of a manual pasta maker, this is ideal for you!
However, if you prefer a pasta maker which does the kneading for you, then unfortunately, the CucinaPro 160 Imperia Pasta Presto Electric Pasta Maker won’t be worth the price.

It will dramatically simplify the pasta-making process, so you can just enjoy the fresh taste.
HR2375/06 Pasta and Noodle Maker Plus Video Review
What We Think of the HR2375/06 Pasta and Noodle Maker Plus
This Philips pasta maker is an excellent option for anyone looking to invest in an automated machine. It is a larger unit and weighs almost 15 lbs, so you will need a larger area in your kitchen or garage shelving to store it.
One of the only things it lacks is thickness control on the pasta, so if you’re looking for versality in that feature or you don’t have adequate storage space, you should keep looking.
If you don’t have any issues with the abovementioned limitations, you will appreciate the large batch capacity of 600g, which is equivalent to 5 or 6 portions of pasta.
This fully automatic machine will make the dough and output the pasta all on its own, and in less than 10 minutes you will have a perfect ½ lb batch of pasta to enjoy. This alone makes the higher price worthwhile.
If you’re lazy like me and want a pasta maker to do all the work for you, this machine is a superb choice. It’s got lots of shapes to choose from, and it literally does all the work, you don’t even need to make the dough first. All of the attachments and things are dishwasher safe, so cleanup isn’t even annoying like I expected. I love this machine! I think everyone should have one.
marie l.
There are a number of attachments included with this pasta maker, so you can enjoy spaghetti, fettuccini, penne, or lasagna/dumpling pasta shapes; this versatility is about as good as it gets and should suit most of your pasta needs. All of the attachments and removal components are dishwasher safe as well, so cleanup will not require much effort on your part at all.

Overall, the Philips HR2375/06 pasta and noodle maker plus is one of the best products on the market for the user experience. It is fairly expensive and doesn’t have the same versatility as more advanced models, but for ease-of-use, you can’t go wrong with this model.
Presentation of the Fox Run 57666 Pasta Maker Machine/Roller
The Classic Alternative
Fox Run
For more traditionally-minded people out there, an old school, manual, classic style pasta maker may be more up your alley. If you want to get back to the roots of pasta making, the Fox Run 57666 pasta maker machine/roller is an excellent way to do so, since it lacks all of the automated features that dominate the market.
What We Think of the Fox Run 57666 Pasta Maker Machine/Roller
This Fox Run pasta maker has a timeless, classic design that we love. Plus, it allows you to make pasta the way it should be done–with manual effort and a simple machine.
It weighs only 5.4 lbs and isn’t too bulky, so you should be able to store it fairly easily. This model is incredibly easy to use as well, so if you don’t want to fiddle with a complicated machine, you’ll love your experience with this one.
One of the greatest benefits of a manual pasta maker like this one is that it doesn’t require electricity. As a result, you can make pasta anywhere without any limitations.
However, the simplicity of the design also means that you need to make the dough yourself and crank it through the machine by hand, so if you’re usually in a hurry or won’t have the physical strength to do these tasks, an automatic machine will be a better fit for you.
I never knew making pasta at home could be so easy. I love the traditional feel of making my own pasta dough and then cutting it with this machine. It works really well, and it has enough versatility for my needs. The price was great and I’m just relieved it wasn’t a waste of money; I’ll definitely be using it quite often. I doubt I’ll be buying pasta from the store very often.
michelle o.
Although this is a manual pasta maker, there is a fair amount of versality. There are a number of attachments that you can use to change the pasta shape, including a fettucine attachment, lasagna attachment, and tagliatelle attachment. There are also 8 thickness options to choose from, so you can always have your preferred pasta type depending on the meal.
Fox Run 57666 Pasta Maker Machine/Roller Specifications

Fox Run 57666 Pasta Maker Machine/Roller Pros and Cons
Pros
Pros
- Can be used anywhere, anytime without electricity
- Very simple and easy to use
