There are models that only offer four main heat settings, but other models will have as many as 15. Obviously, the more options you have the more precise you can be with your temperature selections. Many electric woks will work off a simple variable dial, so there won’t be any standout settings at all.
- Power/Watts.
The power of an electric wok will be incredibly important for its ability to heat evenly and actually cook your dishes the way it is supposed to. The average for this product will be 1500 Watts, but some models will dip as low as 1200 Watts. The larger the capacity, the more power it should have. A lower number isn’t always a bad sign though, because the heat distribution in the pan will affect how things cook, and the material may conduct heat so efficiently that the unit does not require a higher wattage to match performance.
- Dishwasher Safe.
Electric woks that have dishwasher safe bowls are incredibly convenient. Not all bowls will be removable from the base, and that is really the marker between dishwasher safe and not. Nearly every electric wok that has a removable bowl will also be dishwasher safe. While many people prefer to handwash their cookware anyways, it’s always nice to have the option. You shouldn’t have to spend extra money to get this feature either, because many affordable models offer this bonus.
- Warranty.
Warranty protection for electric woks is hard to come by for some reason, but it is always something we recommend you look for. Even one year of coverage can save you from another out-of-pocket expense, so it’s worth it. Even though most of these products won’t be that expensive, they are expected to last at least a few years before they start to deteriorate. As a result, you should but a product with warranty coverage if you can find one.
